GenRev means a generation waking up, taking God out of the box, and finding out what He is really about. This music is meant for the people who are un-churched and for rational people with an uncommon faith.
When I first truly started experiencing God, it was in His simplicity. I can’t help but think we have turned faith in Jesus into a complicated system. I want to share my experience that through faith, prayer, and consistency in a daily walk, I gained a different understanding of Him. Through this music I feel God has a message for the un-churched. Now, that doesn’t mean you’re not sitting in church every week, but the point is are you getting the message? Many people have learned many things about God through church, but for me the burning question is: What are we doing outside those church doors on our own? What are we doing when no one is looking, when it’s an audience of one?
Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (KJV)
I believe that through faith in Jesus, prayer, discernment, and consistency in a daily walk, God begins to work through us. When God lifts the veil and we come to realize how very short life truly is and that we were created to serve Him, it opens up possibilities for our lives we could normally only dream of. God wants nothing more than to work through us and equip us to do the miraculous for His glory.
God has gifted me with songwriting so that I am able to communicate, through the lyrics of the Band of Renegades, my testimony. All I can hope is He continues to work through me to reveal a message this Generation can relate to.
GenRev Music is all for his glory because He is worthy! If he can use an ordinary person like me with too many sins and mistakes to list to do the extraordinary and to accomplish His will, He can use anyone.
